MINISTER AWAY FROM THE CHURCH
Blaine will be attending a meeting of Alberta and Northwest Conference in Slave
Lake from May 28-31. At that gathering,
he is hoping to be elected as a ANWC rep to the General Council Executive (work
which will start by attending the GC Meeting August 8-15 in Cornerbrook NL). And… Blaine is scheduled to have some surgery
on June 8th. Barring any complications
he should be off work for about 2 weeks.
FOUR SCORE AND TEN YEARS AGO…
2015, the United Church of Canada will celebrate its 90th
birthday. St. David’s will join other
United Churches in ringing its church bell at 10:30am local time. It was 10:30 in the morning on June 10, 1925
- at Mutual Street Arena in Toronto - that the inaugural service of the UCC was
held. Listen for the wonderful call of
our bell and let your heart join generations of United Church-ers in
celebrating where we have been, who we are, and where we are going.
THANK YOU
Chris and the crew from CRS Brown
Landscaping for keeping the church yard looking so nice.
St. David’s can sell you gift cards for
Safeway or Coop (at face value) every Sunday after church in a variety of value
combinations. There is no need to
pre-order, we have them on hand. You can
take them home that day. A percentage of
the cost stays with the church as a fundraiser.
